'''Grimdark Future: Firefight''' is a single-page ''skirmish game'' set in a war-torn sci-fi future, designed to be easy to learn but hard to master. The game is played with 5-10 models per warband, giving you small battles that can be played in 30-45 minutes.

Humanity on earth split into two major factions, one faction trusted in their faith, while the other believed in their reason. There was a great war which threatened to destroy what little remained of Earth, so colonization ships were shot far into space to escape this madness. The ships arrived in a region of space which would be named the Sirius Sector, where humanity met other alien species for the first time and realized they were but tiny specks in the vast unknown.
Grimdark Future is a sci-fi universe at war. The galaxy is in turmoil, where powerful factions and alien races are locked in a struggle to control valuable resources and territory. The technology in this universe is advanced, with faster-than-light travel and powerful weapons, but the origins and true capabilities of this technology still need to be fully understood.

The God-King, powerful ruler and master of genetic manipulation carves out a place for humanity with the might of his Battle Brothers. Now he starts to get a bit big for his boots, demanding worship and controversially deeming women unfit to fight in his armies. Yeah. So a once-respected female general of his old armies creates the Battle Sisters, dubbed by her legions the God-Queen.

The Human Defense Force (HDF) takes most of the empire at the time and looks after it for the good of the people really (they're really great guys) with the Battle Sisters bouncing around and being fanatical warriors-of-justice types.

The Havoc Brothers are from the Havoc Gods, armies of daemons leading humans corrupted by the forces of Havoc.

The elves used to be the dominant species in the Sirius sector, but they messed up and created the Robot Legions who went full murder crazy. The higher echelons of the society escaped in big spaceships and became the High Elf Fleets, whilst the lower parts of society who survived became the betrayed Dark Elf Raiders.
There are various factions, each with their own unique ideologies and agendas, fighting for dominance, and the true motivations of the war are not entirely clear. The universe is also home to many different alien species, some of which are peaceful, while others are hostile and aggressive.

For the other factions, the TAO Coalition are a race of xenos (alien) species who have joined together to create a glorious new collective. Alien Hives are constantly-evolving lifeforms that exist purely to consume bio matter, using soul-snatchers as fore-fronts to scout and lead the attack.
The war is fought across a wide range of environments, from deep space to planets and asteroids, and the battles are intense and brutal, with ships and soldiers using advanced weapons and tactics to gain an advantage. The universe is full of uncertainty and secrets, and the true nature of the war and the various factions fighting it are open to interpretation.
